They're super comfortable in the summer heat.

When starting to make a filet crochet,

you should always start with the ninth chain

on the first row from the hook.

This is the common way of starting a filet crochet.

There is a whole world of knitting out there,

and we are only limited by our imagination and belief in ourselves.

Today computers have become an indispensible part of

our daily lives.

This is so because they have several vital advantages.

Obviously one very important advantage is that

they are utterly reliable.

Another major one is that they are great time-savers for searching new projects about crochet...

HOW DO YOU COLOR YOUR WORLD?

It is fun to visit blogs that have linked to mine, and see projects knitters are doing and what changes they have made to make the project their own. Yarns used or changes made in edgings, shaping, or other details. Sometimes, I will google a design to see what people are doing.

LACES - CROCHET PATTERNS...

DO YOU LIKE COLORFUL LACES

OR WHITE ONES

IN YOUR ROOMS ?

HERE YOU FIND SOME PATTERNS...

No lace pattern-books have been found to have been published in Spain.

The needle-made laces which came out of Spanish monasteries in 1830,

when these institutions were dissolved,

were mostly Venetian needle-made laces.

The humble endeavours of peasantry in England

(which could boast of no schools of design),

Germany, Sweden, Russia and Spain

could not result in work of so high artistic pretension as that of France and Flanders.

In the style of the laces made at Venice, Genoa, Ragusa and other places;

these French imitations were to be called " points de France."

By 1671 the Italian ambassador at Paris writes,

" Gallantly is the minister Colbert on his way to bring the

` lavori d'aria' to perfection."

Six years later an Italian, Domenigo Contarini,

alludes to the " punto in aria," " which the French can now do to admiration."

The styles of design which emanated from the chief of the French lace centre.

In the 8th century good lace was made in Devonshire,

but it is only in recent years that to some extent

the hand lace-makers of England and Ireland

have become impressed with the necessity of well-considered designs for their work.

Silk pillow lace making is carried on in Spain, especially at Barcelona.

The patterns are almost entirely imitations

from 18th-century French ones of a large and free floral character.

SOME CROCHET TECHNIQUES FOR YOU...

Crocheters can create a finished edge on their work that makes

their projects more professional and finished looking.

Additionally, finishing the edge of an crocheted piece that will be

appliqued onto another, as in the case of Amigurumi faces,

will help to hide the thread and stitches used to applique those pieces.

The technique is quite simple and once you see it,

you will wonder why you hadn't thought of it.
