The most poisonous animal is neither of the above.

Actually, it’s a little frog, measuring max 2 inches in length.
Now, most frogs produce skin toxins, but the dart poison frogs from

Central and South America are the most potent of all.

But the king among all them all is the golden poison frog,

scientifically called “phyllobates terribilis.”

A single terribilis contains enough poison to kill up to 100 people.

In case you think this is a typo, I really meant one hundred!
Would you want to argue that

it is definitely the most poisonous animal on Earth?

‘Retired Europeans are richer than working people'

“The campaign, suggested by the European-Turkish Tourism Business Council President Hüseyin Baraner, will be initiated with various activities during the East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition (EMITT) to be held in February next year in Istanbul,” said Tekirova Mayor Yusuf Uras, who is also the Southern Antalya Tourism Development and Infrastructure Operations Union (GATAB) chairman, at a press conference held for the promotion of the campaign.
The campaign will be the first in Europe, said Baraner and added, “retired Europeans are able to see their grandchildren only at certain times due of work density. The campaign aims to enable them to have a holiday with their grandchildren during the winter season in Kemer. Retired Europeans are 25 percent richer than their children. They want to spend their money on their grandchildren.

They can be together with their grandchildren in Kemer

and have a holiday thanks to the campaign.”
He said the campaign is expected to produce results as of next year. “Hundreds of thousands of retired Europeans are expected to come to Kemer thanks to the campaign.”

Fazıl Say and sharks – reflections and predictions
Fazıl Say, Turkey's most celebrated concert pianist recently tested the waters of political commentary by putting his toe in and found – Allah, Allah! – that there were sharks in the water ready to eat him alive.
Say's mistake was that he should have remained absolutely silent until his power base was strong enough to withstand the sharks and other attacks. It may be that he will never be able to speak about conditions in Turkey until he is living in a foreign country where there is real freedom of speech.
What he said was the truth, thinly obscured. The Islamists control about 70 percent of Turkey and they are gradually restraining thought and behavior more and more. Soon Say will be free to compose and perform whatever he wants, as long as it satisfies the Islamist bosses.
Eventually, the situation will become like that of Russia under Joseph Stalin (a last name the ruthless Georgian adopted meaning “man of steel.”) In that Russia, world-famous composers Serge Prokofiev and Dmitri Shostakovich had to satisfy Stalin's musical taste, and that of some other top officials in the Communist party. If they didn't, they were not just accused but convicted without trial of “decadent Western formalism” and they were forbidden to perform or to have their works performed. They were exiled from the creative musical world that they lived in and for.
Under those conditions, Prokofiev and Shostakovich recanted, perhaps more than once, admitted their “terrible error,” and composed something light and tuneful that would satisfy the good-old, honored and respected Joe Stalin (heart of steel, too) and his associates. The creative atmosphere was like being in Hell with an out-of-tune piano that had only black keys, and feeling there was no exit.
Say recanted. Said his remarks had been mistranslated or misinterpreted.

A black hole
On a clear night the star group Cygnus (“the Swan”)

is a fine sight. Bright, white Deneb is in the head of the swan.

The silver band of the Milky Way runs through the group. There is also 61 Cygni- the first star to have its distance measured.
As long ago as 1838 this distance was found to be

10.6 light years.
Cygnus has now come into the news again.

Scientists believe that the group may contain a “black hole”.

A BLACK HOLE ?
Yes. A black hole may be a million times bigger and
heavier than the sun. Nothing can leave a black hole,

not even the star’s light and heat and radio waves.

If anything comes too near, it is pulled inside the “hole”
and disappears for ever.
We do not know much about black holes yet;
but we do know that a star has two main forces.
One force pulls things inwards towards the middle of the star,

or stops them escaping from the pull. The other force

pushes out waves of energy into space.
Our sun is not a big star, and is two great forces are nicely balanced.

We can be thankful for that !
A black hole may have no such balance. The inward pull may

have grown so strong that it can hold back all the outward pushing energy.

If such a star ever had planets, they would all fall into the hole.

The pull may even be strong enough to trouble other stars that

are not very far away frm the black hole.
This last idea is important. Although star movements

seem very slow to our eyes, those in Cygnus are unusual.

Several stars may be moving slowly, slowly towards…

There is nothing to be seen.
Only a black spot in the Silver-white Milky Way.

zihinden önce bedeni kaybetmemek,
kurda kuşa yem olmayıp

diyebilmek...
Sevdiklerinle geçen her gün bayramdır.
Küsken barışmak, ayrıyken kavuşmak,
suskunken konuşmak bayramdır.
Bir kitabı bitirmek, bir binayı bitirmek,
